Amnesty Day

HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE AMNESTY DAY EVENT

The Jackson County Board of County Commissioners is sponsoring a project to collect, recycle, treat and properly dispose of household hazardous waste.  This event will take place at the Jackson County Recycling Facility located at 3530 Wiley Drive, Marianna, Florida located in the the City of Marianna Industrial Park down North Jefferson Street.

It will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2012 starting at 8 am and will end at 12 pm.

Examples of household hazardous waste:

Pesticides, Batteries, Used Oil, Engine Degreasers, Solvents, Brake Fluid, Stale Gasoline, Anti-Freeze, Pool Chemicals, Paint/Paint Thinners, & Insecticides

Computer Electronics will also be accepted: CPU's, Monitors, Keyboards, Printers, & Scanners.

This service is being provided to households & local governments only.  No commerical or industrial businesses.

Conditionally-exempt small quantity generators (small businesses, schools, growers & etc.) will be accepted at a reduced rate.

White Goods & electronics will be accpepted. No gas cylinders or explosives.

WARNING: Please follow manufacturer's handling instructions and use caution in the transporting of hazardous materials to collection site.  Do not mix chemicals or allow skin contact.
